back in La La land

It feels unbelievably good to have my car with me again this semester. I felt so stranded and helpless without it. Not sure that's neccessarily a bad thing. Regardless, now i can get around. Devon and I just had lunch in such a cute artsy little place in LA called Fred 66. so delicious. Check it out if you find yourself in Los Angeles. Also, give me a call.

Not sure I'm quite ready for school to start...TOMORROW. fuck. back to the daily grind.

i am really excited to be back here with my roomies/neighbors.

mammoth trip this weekend!

old tendancies

as a child my mom would ask me to go to the garage to get her various items from the deep freeze. to get there i would have to walk through the backyard. many times this was at night. i used to get this anxious feeling and i believed that there were spirits or creatures of some kind that were going to reach out and grab my ankles as i walked through the dark.

it's funny how i still get those feelings as a 20 year old who doesn't frighten easily. i guess being home places you back in your old frame of mind. even with the little things like this.

School's approaching

There are only a few days left of my winter break and then I'm making the solo 8 hour drive back to LA. I've never done the drive back alone, so that's bound to be a learning experience. But definitely worth the while to have my wheels in California.

It's amazing how much needed, yet poorly appreciated, the resting time we receive during these 4 weeks is. I've had time to simply lay around. What a blessing!

I also couldn't be more thankful for my friends at home. And while not being able to see them all the time sucks, I've got to admit that I love being the one that's "visiting" during winter break. Everyone is excited to see you. :)

The time is flying though, and I'm sure before I know it it will be spring break. Wonder what I'll do this year? Maybe another rousing Mexico adventure? Hopefully not quite the same kind this time...

In other news, I'm now the proud owner of a Canon 20d camera and i'm happy to announce that I'm in LOVE. Here's a glimpse of some of the beauty I found in my backyard yesterday.
